Biografia
Music publishing firm founded by Etienne Girod that operated in Paris from 1855 until around 1919 (possibly being acquired by Alphonse Leduc). On a ca.1857 score is noted that E. Girod is "Successeur de Launer, Boulevart Montmartre, 14." Launer (and eventually Mme. Veuve Launer) had been in operation in Paris since 1828 having acquired the business of Raphael Carli et Cie. An edition with the plate number 4660 (cf. Wieniawski's Légende) bears the stamp : Vve (= Veuve) E. Girod, éditeur, 16, Boul. Montmartre, Paris.
