Dear Giacomo,
I don't know if Leonardi told you that I have charged him with supervising the performance of the "Amore dei tre Re" in Cremona — even if he did, I wanted to inform you myself as proof that I intend to put your son-in-law to work. And I hope the experiment works out well, so that I can give him similar assignments on other occasions. More than that — of my own initiative — is beyond anything I can imagine doing; nor will I — but I repeat, I hope the trial proves such that I am encouraged to make good use of Leonardi in the future.
Adami mentioned, without going into detail, that the two of you are going to London soon to see two plays. May this finally be just what you need, so that you can return with a good subject in hand.
Yesterday evening "Parsifal" met with magnificent success — marvelous performance and staging — what a pity you were not there!!
An embrace until we meet again soon from
yours fondly
Tito Ricordi
